Accident, Sickness and Unemployment Insurance

Surprisingly more people in the UK take out life assurance than accident insurance, yet you are much more likely to be off work following an accident. Having to live on State benefits is not the most pleasant of prospects and can prove to be very hard. Different people have different needs when it comes to accident insurance and occupation does have an effect on insurance premiums. A teacher needing accident insurance will pay less than someone with a more dangerous job such as a scaffolder or an industrial painter. Some sports are covered in the normal accident insurance policies; however more extreme sports may need a bespoke policy.

Accident, Sickness and Insurance Policies:

With accident, sickness and unemployment policies, you pay for an amount of monthly cover and if you lose your job or can't work, you get that amount of money each month to spend how you like. Policies usually pay out for up to a year or until you return to work, whichever happens first. It can work out to be cheaper than some other types of insurance, but you have to remember that your monthly pay out may be considerably less than you are use to. This sort of insurance usually pays a cash lump sum if you die or become disabled during the policy term. As a precaution, the death benefit portion should be written in trust, this should then ensure that the payout will go directly to your spouse and not be automatically included in your estate.

You can take out insurance policys for your children too, as many chrildren are prone to have accidents whilst they are growing up.
